Bio

Robert Batley released his debut solo album, ‘South of the River’ in 2008.  Garnering decent radio exposure on various shows including Recharged Radio and The Justin Wayne Show, Rob did extensive touring around London generating good interest in his work and many fans along the way.

.

“Rob Batley seems to sing outside his years and you can’t help but relate to his honest, down-to-earth songs that regale you tales of being young in London in the way the uber-cool shoreneyoxton crowd never could (i.e., you can actually understand what the hell he’s singing about!)
Armed with an acoustic guitar, an obsession with Springsteen and more women than you can shake a stick at, Rob will charm anyone and is best viewed in a darkened venue with candles and friends. Check out Small Potatoes, an anthem for a night out in any town in the UK from the last decade.”
Jordan Thomas – Host ‘Recharged Radio’

As well as writing, recording and performing his own songs, Rob also plays in pubs and bars in the local area, belting out classics from various eras and genres.  Often supported by various band members including, Dan Cooper, Adam Petty and Adam Batley, Robert Batley is a versatile performer capable of providing background music to any bar or being at the forefront of lively nights in pubs.  He has achieved residencies at both The Beckenham and Bar Lorca every other Sunday of the month.  Check the ‘gigs’ listings for details.

Rob Batley also fronts the rock’n'roll band Stone Pony, playing both originals and covers.  As well as being a great function band, suitable for weddings and live music nights, Stone Pony also play and perform their own music.  Their first EP, ‘The Sam Sessions’ was released in 2005, followed two years later by ‘Chasing Thieves’.  This helped them gain support slots with both Supergrass and Chas n Dave.  They are currently in the studio putting the finishing touches to their first full album, ‘Rabble Rock Radio’.

Robert Batley also collaborates with writer/producer Adam Petty in writing songs for other performers.  If you like anything you hear that don’t be afraid to get in touch.
